Way Back 4004 was 1,000 nm. by 386/486, slipped to 270 nm, by hammer & K8, 135/90 nm . thats 20 years to drop to 1/4 size, not 36 months. 16 years to drop to 1/4 again, faster reduction, yet design can be seen as forefront. scale running out 2day, why hasten, when effective qulity of engineering is best.
GO SLOW. Plenty of time, yet seems 45 nm & below is DO OVER. So why not go,go thru IT again, in meantime, sub 32 will become reliable. at least talkin' High k/G.
better material makes better processor & low K will be saving grace, yet, too fast. time will aid design.
